I Am The Best Candidate to Succeed Obaseki – Ighodalo

Asue Ighodalo, a former Chairman of Nigeria Breweries Plc, has declared himself as the best candidate to succeed Governor Godwin Obaseki in Edo State. Ighodalo emphasized his extensive experience working with both Adams Oshiomhole and Obaseki during their respective governorships. He hails from Ewohimi in Edo Central, describing himself as a bonafide Edo citizen, and expressed his readiness to serve the state.

Ighodalo, who is also the chairman of Alaghodaro Summit, noted that he is not affiliated with any particular individual and is offering his services to make Edo economically strong. He highlighted his desire to address various aspects of the economy to uplift the people and alleviate poverty. Recognizing Edo as the “heartbeat of the nation,” he stressed the need for essential infrastructures such as good roads, water supply, hospitals, and schools.

Leaving the private sector for politics, Ighodalo acknowledged the tough decision but expressed his commitment to the rigors of the job. He affirmed his determination to bring his extensive experience as the chairman of various companies to bear on governance.

Addressing concerns about his candidacy, Ighodalo stated, “I am here to serve the state, and I can say I am the best man for the job. I hear people saying I am someone’s candidate, but I can tell you that I am nobody’s candidate.” He pledged to provide opportunities for youth participation in his government and vowed to work towards the uplift of the state.

Ighodalo aims to build on past government successes in Edo while adapting policies to current needs. He also emphasized the importance of unity within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and called on stakeholders to unite for the success of the party.
