Dele Momodu Urges PDP Leadership to Punish Nyesom Wike for Alleged Betrayal

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dele Momodu, has called on the party’s leadership to take disciplinary action against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for allegedly working against the party’s interests.

Wike, during his tenure as the Governor of Rivers State, openly opposed the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and supported President Bola Tinubu, contributing to the APC’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

Despite Wike’s actions, he has remained in the PDP and accepted a ministerial position in Tinubu’s government, challenging the party’s decisions.

Recently, 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to Wike defected from the PDP to the APC amid the political crisis in the state.

In an interview on Arise News, Momodu expressed his dissatisfaction with the PDP leadership’s tolerance of Wike’s alleged betrayal. He emphasized that if he had the authority, he would have sanctioned Wike long ago, accusing him of wanting to “eat his cake and have it.”

While acknowledging that the PDP leadership may have its reasons for not taking immediate action against Wike, Momodu urged the party to address the situation and curb Wike’s perceived excesses.
