Agro- sector: Edo Govt will continue to promote Agro- Industries irrespective of the numerous challenges, Hon. Edebiri assures
Edo Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Richard Edebiri has reinstated that Edo State Government will continue to encourage activities which sought to promote Agro- Industries in the state.
The Commissioner gave the assurance during the official commissioning of the Ugbekpe-Ekperi Rice Mill project built by the Japanese Embassy in partnership with Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) earlier today.
Hon. Edebiri chronicled his speech by first unraveling the numerous challenges faced by investors who which to invest in Agro- Industries, as well as buttressed the role of the state government in creating a friendly environment for smooth runnings.
The Commissioner however reassured that the Edo State Government led by His Excellency, Gov. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki will continue to encourage activities which sought to promote Agro- Industries, as well as institute policies which will motivate growing industries with Agro-preneural mindset.
The Japanese Ambassador, His Excellency, kikuta yutaka commended the State Governor for the industrialization mindset, adding that it has no doubt created a well structured environment for the enhancement of Agro- industries.
The CEO/founder of Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO), Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe Ph.D, who was duly representative by one of his officials commended the initiative, adding that the Rice Mill project will help to alleviate poverty in the society through the creation of employment and productivity.
In the same vein, the King of Ekperi Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Alh. D.Y.E Kanoba, The Egiegbai 11 of Ekperi commended the initiative and the state Government for the friendly policies geared towards the development of the nook and crannies of the State.
