Share the news

Details have emerged that Senator Monday Okpebholo has concluded arrangements to pull out N2.5bn from the State’s treasury for election tribunal, under the guise of paying compensation for a land along Sapele Road acquired by the Edo State Government, for overriding public interest, in the previous administration.

A landed property acquired by the Edo State Government around 2021 has become the instrument with which Okpebholo will, in the next 24 hours, move the N2.5bn to the account of the former owner of that land and then 2 billion of the money will be pulled out with a plan deploy it to compromise the election tribunal.

Sources within the government circle hinted that intense pressure is being mounted on the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Physical Planning, and EdoGIS to perfect the transaction so that the mandate can be released to the bank for onward transfer of the funds.
