…empowers 41 women with interest free loan.
…urges youths to take advantage of government ICT hubs and others.
The much awaited Ovia North-East One Constituency Town Hall meeting has been held with a beehive of activities, the event which was held at the College of Education hall was parked full of members of the constituency from various wards including Enigie, community leaders, representatives of Nigeria Automobile Technician Association (NATA), Market Women Association, Farmers Association, National Association of Nigeria Students NANS, SUG UNIBEN, NURTW, RTEAN, Keke riders Association, Edo State Security Network, party members among others.
In his opening remarks, the host, member representing Ovia North-East One Constituency and Majority Leader Edo State House of Assembly Hon.(Barr.) Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian thanked participants for creating time out to be part of the event, he said that the main reason why the town hall was organized, was to tell the people what he has been doing and to also hear from the people what their major needs are.
Immediately after the host’s open remark, the floor was now made open for individuals, group representatives and party members across various party divides to speak, some the individuals, groups representatives and party members that spoke eulogised, the sterling leadership quality of the Honourable Member who they adjudged has done marvellously well, they lauded the initiative of organising the town hall meeting, gear towards having robust interactions with stakeholders, they described the gesture as a model and first of it’s kind in the constituency, he appealed that, it should be sustained, they added that Hon. Charity Iguodala Aiguobarueghian, Esq. is a square peg in a square hole, they also described him as a beacon of light in the legislative business in Edo State.
The constituents thereafter cited roads, markets, schools, electricity, health centers, job opportunities for their children etc as parts of their challenges.
Speaking earlier, the guest speaker, Dr. (MrHons.) Shola Okunkpolor thanked the people for sending Hon. Aiguobarueghian to represent them at the Edo State House of Assembly, she added that they sent the right person.

Furthermore, she added that the onus now rest on the people to tell the lawmaker the rules and laws that will favour the people and stand after the Majority Leader may have left office.
She revealed to the people that, there is a law now that 8ys every child must be in school, hence parents should ensure that their children are in school so that in new future, there will be sound people like the Honourable that will represent the constituency, she frowned at the issue of cult killings and quick way to make money that some youths are now running after, she added that “wealth without foundation doesn’t last, in conclusion, she called on the constituents to always protect government properties in their area, because those projects are theirs hence it is their responsibility to protect them.
Some others who also spoke includes the Ovia North-East Local Government Chairman, Hon. Collins Ogbewe who extolled the representative capacity of the Majority Leader for his performance within 6 months, he added that, it was the first time such an event is being organised, he appealed to the constituents to continue to give Barr. Aiguobarueghian the needed support, also speaking Hon. Monday Osaigbovo enjoins the people to always speak up, whenever they anything that will affect their environment, he thanked the Nigeria Police for using information given to them properly, he said every project sitted by government should be protected by the communities, he admonished parents to discourage their children and wards from engaging in crimes, also Hon. Andrew Uzamere said, the constituents should thank God for having such a vibrant and articulate representative, he thanked them for choosing the best.
While speaking in response to all the issues, Barr. C.I.Aiguobarueghian reiterates his commitment to the service of the people, he assured the people of Ovia North-East One Constituency that all these issues will be addressed, as some of them are part of the budget the Governor presented to the House last week, he said the project of Edo State Security Network is on his heart, he thanked them for their good job, he revealed how he has been working assiduously to make sure that the law is passed next year, in the area of skill acquisition, he enjoined the parents to encourage their children to take advantage of some of the free government created skills acquisition centres including the ICT hub in ICE road, Innovative hub among others.
On market women empowerment, Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian announced the immediate empowerment of 41 women selected from the 6 wards of the constituency, empowering them with the sum of N50,000 each to boost their businesses for a period of 11 months, after which it will be transferred to other set of women, he added that the money will keep on going round and will not come back to him any longer, on electricity, he said he has sent 5 applications before now to the Governor for the supply of transformers to those communities, on scholarship, he said those with genuine need for school fees should channel them to his office, on security, he said a lot has been done to chased away criminals away from the area that use to be a den of kidnapper, he urged the people to always alert the security agencies whenever they show up again, he assured them of the sustainability of the current existing peace in the area.
High point of the event was the collection of data of the benefiting women for onward transfer of the cash, some of the dignitaries present includes Hon. Monday Osaigbovo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chiefaincy Affairs, Hon. Andrew Uzamere, member representing Ovia North-East two Constituency, Hon.
