The Executive chairman of Ovia North East Local Government, Hon. Collins Osamede Ogbewe, has described his impeachment as illegal, null and void.

Hon Collins, during a press conference held at Okada, on Tuesday morning 2025, insisted that he remains the legal council boss of Ovia North East Local Government.

Describing its attempt impeachment by 2 out of 13 councillors of the legislative chamber, within the supervision of Edo state deputy governor, Rt Hon. Dennis Idahosa, heavily armed police men from Edo state government house and nor state actors.

I remained the executive chairman of Ovia North East Local Government area in line with Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja oder. ordering the Edo State Government, House of Assembly and all parties in the Local Government Councils crisis, to maintain the status as at December 15 , 2024 pending the determination of the motion on notice filed by the 18 Local Government Councils Chairmen in the state.

Hon. Collins admits, he is aware of the impeachment of the former leader of Ovia North East legislative arm, Hon. Omoruyi Igbenake by 11 of the 13 members of the legislative arm for grossly misconduct and abuse of office.

He urge the general public to remain calm and law abiding while they go about their daily activities.
