The present crisis governor Godwin Obaseki is going through is as a result of his great achievement in the past three years which have surprisingly supersede his predecessor’s 8 years achievement.

The Senior special assistant to Edo State Governor on Digital media, Comrade Nosakhare Eguagie stated this in Benin City while explaining the reason Adams Oshiomhole and other retrogressive forces are fighting the Governor.

Nosakhare said that since the inception of the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration in November 2016, Edo state has experienced a huge transformation that has never been witnessed in a long time.

He pointed out that Governor Obaseki within the last 3 years had placed premium on human capacity development and deepening democracy which has revolutionized governance and improved productivity.

He highlighted some achievements of the Governor Obaseki-led administration which included the establishment of the Edo Innovation Hub, a model initiative which has helped to improve the skills of Edo youths, the reconstruction of the Government Science and Technical College to furnish our youths with relevant vocational skills, the establishment of the Edo Production Centre at Evbuoriaria, Edo Jobs and Edo Innovates programs, the Edo Agripreneur Initiative which has empowered Edo citizens to go back to agriculture, the reconstruction of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium to a world class facility as well as the ban of the activities of street urchins popularly called Agberos and the infamous Community Development Associations (CDAs).

He frowned at a situation where the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole would join other retrogressive minded people who hide under the umbrella of the proscribed Edo People’s Movement (EPM) to destabilise the Governor Obaseki-led administration on account of his refusal to maintain the status quo of sharing the state common patrimony with a greedy few.

In his words ‘ most people are not happy that within a short time, Governor Obaseki has been able to achieve what he failed to do in 8 years which is the eradication of thuggery and the building of human capacity with his investment in human capacity training programmes’.

He urged all well meaning Edo people to support the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki as he has demonstrated that he has what it takes to position Edo along the path of sustainable development and progress.

He urged the people of Edo state to ensure democracy is not derailed by those who does not mean well for the state.
